Why do blacktail antlers have a tendancy to blade?

I see this more with blacktail than any other species.  Anyone know why blackie antlers blade instead of separating?

Because Blacktail bucks are freaking awesome! And they suck! All at the same time but mostly because they are awesome.

oh true dat, but is there any better quarry i think not, what a deer.... maybe they palmate do to genetics and minerals on the west side

It is odd though 3 of the 5 blacktail sheds I found from vail had blade points. The 2pt I shot in vail 3 years ago also had blade points. maybe it's a vail thing?

Maybe it's the lack of minerals that prevents full antler growth, causing a point to start but not fully develop.(?)

because they are into inter-species coupling and have been breeding with caribou in secret caves  :dunno:
